What is behind the finished room.

Every project is adapted to the existing home. This section shows the typical Mattison assembly so homeowners can compare real construction—not just finished pictures.

Exterior work can improve comfort when the hidden layers are addressed.

New finishes alone do not guarantee better efficiency. The biggest gains come when windows, doors, insulation, air sealing, flashing, and drainage-plane details are coordinated wherever the work opens the building envelope.

Replacement windows and doors

Proper sizing, pan flashing, perimeter air sealing, and insulated Low-E glass can improve comfort and reduce drafts.

Siding and exterior trim

A continuous drainage plane and careful flashing protect the wall. Insulation can be upgraded where the chosen scope and wall conditions allow.

Roofing, soffit, and gutters

Underlayment, ventilation, flashing, drip edges, gutters, and downspouts work together to move water away from the building.

Deck and porch connections

Ledger flashing, structure, fasteners, guards, stairs, and water paths are designed as a system—not treated as finish details.

Energy savings depend on existing conditions and the final scope. Mattison documents the products and assemblies included in the proposal; manufacturer ratings are provided when a rated window, door, insulation, or roofing product is selected.
